How to choose your psy?
There are so many different names, titles ... we get lost!
My psy is trained as a psychologist, psychotherapist and supervisor.
What is important I think is to find out about the training course of our psy fairly quickly, see before consulting ...
Personally, if I had known this information before, it would have saved me a lot of therapeutic setbacks ...!
Those I have dealt with in the past were mostly psychoanalytically oriented psychiatrists.
A title of psychologist, psychotherapist or psychiatrist gives the assurance of training framed by law and the State and of a minimum basis of training and internship in the field of psychology. This does not mean that this professional will be competent and trained in therapies that have demonstrated their effectiveness, but it is already a little "more". It's up to you to research your area of expertise and make a choice of care system. We patients have the right to choose our shrink, if it does not suit us, we have the right to stop the follow-up!
Here are some articles to help you see a little more clearly:

psychotherapist,

How to become a legal expert in France:
To conclude ... Let's keep a critical mind, look for what is good for us, what makes us good, seek to understand, know, base ourselves on research, evidence of effectiveness .... The label of patient does not mean "sheep" or "moron". We are the actors of our healing, do not let others control our life or our psyche blindly and without hindsight ...
We have the CHOICE, don't let ourselves be bullied!
Let us fight for the recognition of our diseases, so that science advances in research to better know them, understand them, diagnose them and treat them ...
Let's be active and actors!
